Reasons for Manufacturing Small Sized Organic Plugs

Most of the companies that make organic plugs manufacture small sized plugs. Even when you go to the market to search for them or any other jewelry, you will find that most of them are small in size. If you are the kind of a person who likes putting on large jewelry, bare me witness that you spend a lot of time searching for them and cannot get them within the first time you go to the market. There are so many reasons why only small sized plugs or jewelry are readily available in the market. Some of them are because some materials used in making the jewelry are extremely hard to get in large sizes. For instance:

Water buffalo horns are hollow larger base and solid only near the tips thus extremely large solid horn is hard to get. These horns are used in making organic plugs that are 1-5/8. If they are manufactured larger than this size they have a tendency of warping. Buffalo horns are also not readily available.

Bone is also limited to the material size. Mammoth ivory tusks can be used in making large organic plugs though they have a tendency of having cracks when the pieces get larger. The plugs made from antler bones are quite larger than others. Most of the bones have a porous marrow center so when making plugs out of them you must shape it so that the marrow remains at its position. This becomes a limitation.

Wood tends to have checks at large sizes and the cost of the material is quite high. Bamboo is not also readily available and its demand is high.

Stones can be made big but weight becomes the limiting factor as diameter increases. Amber is highly priced and not available.

Scarification : the new craze in body modification

When it comes to body modification then there are many different and popular forms, such as tattooing and piercing, however recently a new craze has emerged that involves scarification. This involves using different implements and methods to scar the skin permanently, think of it as a tattoo without the ink.

There are two main ways in which scarification can be completed and the first of these is branding, this involves using an incredibly hot heat source to permanently mark the skin through burning. It is a well used practice when marking animals for ownership identification for example. Again this can be divided into to processes, the first is to mark the skin repeatedly with a hot piece of metal over a drawing, and this is known in the business as “striking”. The second way is to use what is known as a “cautery pen” these are traditionally used in the medical profession to cauterize small wounds to prevent blood loss, but they have become more popular with scarification followers.

The second method of scarification is cutting and is basically what it says, a fine blade is used to permanently mark the skin and this process can often be used in conjunction with tattoo inks to give the design more color.
As with most extreme forms of body modification, then you will need to remember that the results of scarification will be with you for the rest of your life, so it is not a process that you should undergo without giving it some consideration. After all scars do not come off and only expensive plastic surgery will have any chance of putting it right. Also if you are considering having it done then you will need to visit a good and professional body modification specialist, otherwise the results may not be what you had expected.
